Samsung Galaxy Ace is a decent phone available in Sri Lanka for a price of around Rs. 38,000 or 39,000 by the time we write this review. Ace is a less expensive than the Galaxy S2 and has less features. But the reality is, if you are not a very high tech user, Galaxy Ace can give you a good experience.
Samsung Galaxy Ace comes with a capacitive touch screen. So the touch performance is much better than a resistive screen. At 3.5 Inch in size, display is a big enough to enjoy a video or to enjoy a game on the device. User interface looks better and responsive enough.
This device runs Android version 2.2 (Froyo), not the latest, but good enough. I think you can update the software to the latest version too. But I have to check it and see for myself to be certain. This device can be connected to the MS exchange server. So you can configure MS Exchange mails on this device. In addition you have the Gmail and other mail options too.
This device can be connected via HSDPA connections (3G), Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connections. In addition you can use the USB to transfer data too.5MP autofocus camera comes with a flash unit. This is really useful if you want to take stills. But video quality is not great at QVGA resolution. In addition this device does not come with a front facing camera. So video calling may be an issue with this device, although it has good 3G capability.
In addition you can play video and movie with the default player. Samsung Galaxy Ace comes with a Stereo FM radio too. This is really useful if you are used to listening to music on your device.
Memory can be extended up to 32GB with micro SD card. So you will have plenty of memory to work with. Check for the memory card when you buy this device from Sri Lanka.
